UJ Ranked Among Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report
Jamestown, ND (09/23/2025) — University of Jamestown has once again been recognized as one of the Midwest's top academic institutions in U.S. News & World Report's "2026 Best Colleges."
UJ is ranked No. 124 (tie) among Regional Universities (Midwest), with additional recognition as a Top Performer on Social Mobility at No. 155 (tie).
Dr. Polly Peterson, who has served as president since 2017, credits a close-knit community for this continued recognition.
"The University has been blessed by the unwavering support of our faculty, staff, students, and alumni who have helped make UJ a place of distinction in the region," said Dr. Peterson.
"Through strategic growth in academic programs, investments in facilities, and a strengthened endowment, we have seen record enrollment, improved retention and graduation rates, and continue to celebrate a 99% placement rate for graduates."
U.S. News & World Report's "Best Colleges" is among the most respected and widely referenced college rankings. The annual report evaluates colleges based on factors such as academic reputation, student success, faculty resources, class sizes, alumni engagement, and social mobility.
