The Political Science Merit Award is given in recognition of high inspiration, unselfish dedication tot he principles of American democracy, and superior academic performance.

The Felix Wirz Award for Excellence in Language Study is named in honor of Felix Wirz, 1962 graduate of UJ and Foreign Language Department member from 1970 - 1974. It is awarded to an outstanding student majoring in French, German, or Spanish. The student must have a major in one or more languages othr than English, have studied abroad, been an officer in Alpha Mu Gamma or ISO, been an asset to the Foreign Language Department and show promise for promoting language acquisition after graduation.

The Professional Achievement Award in English is awarded to the junior or senior showing the most professional promise in English.

The Outstanding Management Information Science Award is given to an outstanding MIS major graduating this academic year who shows great promise in graduate school or industry.

The Outstanding Information Technology Graduate Award is given to an outstanding IT major graduating this academic year who shows great promise in graduate school or industry.

The Outstanding Computer Science Graduate Award is given to a graduating computer science major who shows great promise in graduate school or industry.

The freshman computer science and technology award is given to an outstanding freshman who has completed CS 170 and has taken or is taking at least one more CS course numbered 171 or higher and who shows great promise in computer science, management information science, or information technology.

The Communication Achievement Award is given in recognition of high academic excellence in the field of communication, service to the college and the community and leadership in the communication department.

The General Chemistry Award is given to the most outstanding student in general chemistry.

The William J. Klaudt Award is given in honor of Mr. William J. Klaudt, former professor and chair of the Department of Business Administration. The award is presented to a graduating senior for outstanding overall performance in the Department of Business, Accounting, and Economics.

The Freshman Biology Achievement Award is given to the highest ranking freshman in biology. This year the award is given to two freshmen.

The Senior Biology Achievement Award is given in recognition of high academic excellence in the field of biology to a graduating biology major.

The Harris and Arlyce Widmer Exam Scholarship is given to a deserving senior accounting student who is a candidate for the CPA exam.

The CPA Society Foundation Award and RD Koppenhaver Scholarships are bestowed through the North Dakota Society of Certified Public Accountants and are awarded to one or two deserving junior or senior accounting students who are candidates for the CPA exam.

The Cosmopolitan Club of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, has funded a full two-year scholarship to the University of Jamestown for an outstanding young German woman from the greater Frankfurt area every year since 1966. The scholarship exists thanks to the support of the late Hazel Stroth, class of 1945, of Frankfurt, Germany.

The Gayle Harben Schuler Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship awarded annually to a student in the Teacher Education program. This award honors Gayle Harben Schuler who taught elementary school and who is the wife of Board of Trustees member, George Schuler.

The Wilson Scholarships are given to up to five qualifying students who participate and are selected in the Wilson competition each year. Recipients are chosen based on their academic and leadership achievements to be Wilson Scholars and receive full tuition scholarships. The Wilson Scholarships were established in memory of Dr. and Mrs. John L. Wilson.
